Happy October, Everyone!  Didn't our first month of school just fly by?

      This month we will be going on a field trip to Hunt Club.  The date will be Tues., October 23.  More information and the field trip permission slip will come home soon.

      Our DRA testing is almost complete now and all parents will be notified of your child's beginning reading level.

      Here are some things we will be working on this month:  Reading:  short vowels, sequencing in stories

Handwriting:  make upper case and lower case letters correctly and in proper size  Math:  tell time to the hour, count pennies and nickels  S. Studies: identify the past and present, identify famous Americans, use a timeline,

Science:  the sun, day and night, seasonal changes

      Please remember to look over your child's homework each night and help them read.  Thanks for your help at home.
